HENRICO, VA – Nathan Dean, a Henrico resident, won $100,000 in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, marking his second win since 2012.

Dean previously won a $25,000 second-tier prize in 2012. This year, he secured one of seven $100,000 winning tickets drawn on January 1, 2024. His winning ticket, #420843, was purchased at Food Lion on Lauderdale Drive in Henrico.

Initially, his wife was skeptical of the win. “There’s no way you’ve won it again!” she said, according to Dean.

Other $100,000 winning tickets were bought in Lynchburg, Manassas, Poquoson, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Yorktown. The raffle also awarded five $1 million prizes to tickets from Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Manassas, and Stafford. An additional 1,000 tickets won $500 each.

Dean, an environmental chemist, has not yet decided how to use his winnings.
