Authorities are searching for Yolanda Nicole Hunter, 29, and her boyfriend, Herman Coleman, 33, also known as Herman Gardner, for the alleged murder of Hunter’s infant son, Prodigy Hunter. Both face capital murder charges.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade reported that on December 21, around 10 a.m., officers and medical personnel responded to an unresponsive infant at an apartment complex on Sunset Drive. Prodigy was found and taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he later died from significant bruises and trauma.

Wade expressed deep disturbance and heartbreak over the extent of injuries sustained by the child. Hunter was initially arrested on December 22 on felony child abuse charges related to her son’s death and was released on a $10,000 bond.

Coleman, initially sought for questioning, has now been charged with capital murder. However, police have yet to locate him. The search continues for Coleman as the case develops.
