SUFFOLK, VA – Stacy Byrd, a Suffolk resident and retail worker, won $100,000 in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. Byrd, a first-time participant, purchased her ticket, #005593, from Food Lion on Holland Road in Suffolk. The raffle concluded with the sale of the last ticket less than 90 minutes after her purchase.

Virginia Lottery announced the winning numbers on New Year’s Day, revealing Byrd’s ticket as one of the seven $100,000 winners. Other winning tickets were sold in Henrico, Lynchburg, Manassas, Poquoson, Virginia Beach, and Yorktown.

The raffle also awarded five $1 million prizes to ticket holders in Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Manassas, and Stafford. Additionally, 1,000 tickets won $500 each.

Upon learning of her win, Byrd expressed shock and excitement. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills and consider purchasing a new car.
