LEESBURG, VA – Scott Nalevanko, a Leesburg small business owner, secured a $1 million prize in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. Nalevanko, known for buying multiple raffle tickets and giving some as Christmas gifts, discovered the winning ticket among his purchases. The ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on East Market Street in Leesburg.
On New Year’s Day, the realization of the winning ticket’s location sparked excitement for Nalevanko, who had been unsure whether he had kept the winning ticket or given it away. His doubts were dispelled when he recognized the ticket’s purchasing address.
Nalevanko’s ticket was one of five to win the top prize in the annual raffle. Other million-dollar tickets were purchased in Arlington, Fredericksburg, Manassas, and Stafford.
Additionally, seven tickets won $100,000 each, sold in Henrico, Lynchburg, Manassas, Poquoson, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Yorktown. The raffle also awarded $500 to each of an additional 1,000 ticket holders.
