JACKSON, NJ – After years of safety concerns and traffic issues in Jackson Township, Ocean County officials have initiated a project to install a traffic light at a critical junction in the Brookwood development area. The absence of a traffic signal at this key access point on County Line Road has been a longstanding problem, posing risks for drivers navigating the four-lane highway towards Lakewood or entering the development.
Jackson Council President Jennifer Kuhn expressed her gratitude for the resolution of this persistent traffic issue. Kuhn’s efforts culminated in a visit to the project site to observe the progress.
Councilman Mordechai Burnstein who has been instrumental in discussions with county officials said he approached county leaders before he was appointed to the council. He said he was satisfied with the county commissioner’s attention on the matter and thanked them for finishing the project.
The county commenced the project in July, and the installation of the traffic lights marks a significant milestone, achieved several months after the initial work began in the summer of 2023. Councilman Mordechai Burnstein emphasized the importance of the project for the Brookwood residents and those using County Line Road, acknowledging the persistence of the local council in advocating for the community’s needs.
The new traffic light installation is expected to enhance safety and improve traffic flow in the area, addressing a critical concern for the residents and commuters of Jackson Township.
