Newark Police Seek Man Who Brutally Attacked Female Fast Food Worker Over Order

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for public assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in an assault that took place on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

The incident occurred around 7:09 a.m. inside an establishment located in the 800 block of South Orange Avenue. A female victim, engaged in conversation with an employee about her food order, was confronted by the suspect who began to yell at her. Following a short verbal exchange, the suspect, who was unknown to the victim, attacked her. He punched her multiple times, causing her to fall to the floor, where he continued the assault with punches and kicks. The victim later sought medical treatment for her injuries.

The suspect is described as a Black male with short black bushy hair, an unshaven appearance, and was last seen wearing a gray Nike Tech hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers.

Newark detectives are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to come forward to aid in the investigation and ensure community safety. This call for public assistance underscores the importance of community involvement in resolving such critical incidents.
