Masked Robber In Newark on the Run in Stolen BMW

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a local gas station. The incident took place on December 26th, around 2:52 a.m. at the Millennium Gas Station located in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue.

According to the report, the suspect arrived at the gas station in a stolen BMW with New Jersey registration Z29EPU. As the gas station attendant began to fuel the vehicle, the suspect got out of the car, brandishing a weapon, and demanded money. He forcibly took $200 from the attendant before fleeing the scene in the BMW. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in the 100 block of Prince Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing black Puma sweatpants with a white stripe along both sides of his legs, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue/purple mask, and white sneakers.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward. The department is committed to ensuring the safety of the community and believes public cooperation is vital in apprehending the suspect.
