NEWARK, NJ – New Jersey State Senator Michael Testa strongly criticized Governor Murphy’s sanctuary state policies, citing recent events where undocumented migrants were transported to Secaucus to catch trains to New York City.
Testa (R-1) expressed concerns about New Jersey becoming a hub for undocumented migrants due to New York’s migrant crisis. He emphasized the need to prioritize New Jersey’s safety and resources, which he believes are being compromised by “far-left open border policies.”
“The impact of these policies on our schools, hospitals, and local communities cannot be ignored. It is high time we start prioritizing New Jersey’s needs and address the challenges posed by these policies,” stated Testa. He advocates for a shift in approach to protect the state’s infrastructure and ensure public safety.
This week, bus loads of migrants headed to New York City were diverted to New Jersey after NYC Mayor Eric Adams denied those migrants passage directly to New York City.
The migrants are not being forced to New York, but according to Texas officials, are requesting to go to New York City to reunite with friends and family members there.
