TRENTON, NJ – A staggering $842.4 million Powerball jackpot has been claimed by a lone ticket holder in Michigan in the January 1 draw. Meanwhile, a New Jersey player has secured a $50,000 third-tier prize by matching four of the five white balls and the Power Ball.
This winning ticket was sold at Jackpocket, located at 355 Warwick Turnpike, Hewitt, Passaic County.
The winning numbers were 12, 21, 42, 44, and 49, with the Red Power Ball at 01, and a 3X Power Play. Additionally, approximately 94,000 New Jersey players won an estimated $543,386 prizes, with individual winnings ranging from $4 to $300. Following this win, the Powerball jackpot has been reset to $20 million for the next draw scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, at 10:59 pm.
In the Double Play draw, which offers another chance for ticket holders who opt in, the numbers drawn were 19, 31, 40, 42, and 64, with the Double Play Ball at 02.
