Arrest Made in Non-Fatal Shooting of Juvenile in Roxbury

BOSTON, MA – On Monday, at approximately 8:51 PM, Boston Police officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Avante Young-Dabney, a 19-year-old from Dorchester, on multiple firearm-related charges.

Officers responded to a shooting at 27 Washington Street, where they found a juvenile female with a gunshot wound.

She was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following a lead, officers located three individuals at 20 Castlegate Road, identifying one as the suspected shooter.

Young-Dabney faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm near a dwelling, and armed assault with intent to murder.

His arraignment is scheduled in Dorchester District Court.
