STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — Safa Behnam, a 45-year-old resident of Sterling Heights, received an unexpected and early birthday gift by winning $100,000 in the 500X Money Maker Second Chance prize from the Michigan Lottery. His win came just days before his birthday, making it an unforgettable celebration.

Behnam was selected in a random drawing held on November 30. He had been actively playing the 500X Money Maker game, scanning his non-winning tickets on the Michigan Lottery app for a second chance to win. “I have been playing the 500X Money Maker game a lot, hoping to win one of the big $6 million prizes, and then scanning the non-winners for a second chance,” said Behnam.

Initially skeptical of the winning notification email he received from the Lottery, Behnam thought it was a scam. It wasn’t until he contacted the Lottery office and confirmed the legitimacy of the prize that he believed his good fortune. “My birthday is in a few days, so winning is a pretty great early birthday gift!” he expressed.

Behnam has plans to use his winnings to take his family on a vacation to Mexico and save the rest.
