WASHINGTON D.C. – A fatal shooting in Southwest D.C. led to the arrest of 36-year-old Deonte Vondell Spicer, who is now facing charges of First Degree Murder while Armed. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, resulted in the death of 27-year-old Tyvez Monroe.
Police responded to reports of a shooting around 4:25 a.m. on Maryland Avenue. Monroe, found with gunshot wounds, was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Investigators from the Washington D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch, aided by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended Spicer the following day.
Monroe, identified as a man of no fixed address, was the sole victim in this incident. Spicer, a resident of Northwest D.C., was detained under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. The case continues to develop as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
