CARNEGIE, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department is actively searching for a Pittsburgh man linked to a stabbing in Carnegie.
At around midnight on December 23, authorities received a report of a stabbing in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue. Responding teams discovered an adult female victim with multiple stab wounds. She was promptly transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.
The Homicide Unit of the Allegheny County Police Department began an investigation following the incident. Interviews with witnesses led detectives to identify Joshua Meyer, 41, as the assailant. Meyer reportedly fled the scene after the attack. He now faces charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Meyer is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds. He is known to frequent both Carnegie and the Elliott neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The public is advised not to approach Meyer if spotted and to immediately contact 9-1-1.
