LAY COUNTY, FL – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in multiple armed robberies. Over the past three weeks, there have been three incidents reported where male victims were targeted through the dating app “Grindr.” In each case, the suspect, using the name “Larry,” arranged meetings in secluded locations. Upon arrival, the suspect, armed with a firearm, demanded cash, and in two instances, forced the victims to withdraw money from ATMs and transfer funds to a Cash App account. These crimes occurred late at night or early in the morning.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the importance of safety when meeting strangers online, advising to inform someone about the meeting and prefer public places. A photo of a person of interest in these cases has been released. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information, or those who have experienced similar incidents in the area, to contact them at (904)264-6512 or submit tips through the SaferWatch App.
