Joe Biden Fasley Claims Eliminating Student Debt for 136 Million Americans

WASHINGTON, DC — During a recent public address, President Joe Biden claimed that his administration relieved the student debt of 136 million Americans. However, official records indicate a different scenario.

The Biden administration has, in fact, canceled a total of $127 billion in student loans, benefiting approximately 3.6 million borrowers. This action represents the most significant cancellation of student debt since the inception of federally backed educational loans over six decades ago.

In his speech, President Biden stated, “I went to the Supreme Court. My [intent] to eliminate student debt was out there, and guess what, the Supreme Court ruled against, but I still got 136 million people’s debt relieved.”

This statement contrasts with the actual figures released by the administration. The White House has not provided further clarification on the discrepancy between the President’s claim and the official data.
