SEAFORD, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Woodland Ferry Road and Woodpecker Road in Seaford last month.

On November 3rd, around 3:02 p.m., a Chevrolet box truck, driven by a 22-year-old from Seaford with a 37-year-old Millsboro passenger, was stopped at a southbound stop sign on Woodland Ferry Road. Concurrently, a Ford F-150 driven by a 58-year-old, with a 42-year-old passenger, both Seaford residents, was eastbound on Woodpecker Road, which has right-of-way at the intersection. The box truck failed to remain stopped, leading to a collision with the F-150’s left side. The impact caused the F-150 to roll multiple times, ejecting its occupants.

The occupants of the box truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital. The driver and passenger of the F-150, who were not wearing seat belts, sustained serious injuries. The 58-year-old driver of the F-150 succumbed to his injuries on December 19, 2023. His name has not been released pending family notification.
