Maryland State Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Dorchester County

CAMBRIDGE, MD – Maryland State Police are leading an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in Dorchester County. The incident was reported shortly before 8 AM in the 600 block of Bradley Avenue.

Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the scene, where they found Taron Jones, 36, from Cambridge, suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was declared deceased at the scene by Dorchester County emergency medical services.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, with assistance from the Cambridge Police Department. Consultations have been made with the Dorchester County State’s Attorney Office. Detectives have identified a person of interest, and currently, there is no perceived threat to the public.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
