Lindenhurst Man Receives 30-Year Sentence for Child Rape and Sexual Abuse

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. – The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office has announced the sentencing of a 42-year-old Lindenhurst man to 30 years in prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, for the rape and sexual abuse of his daughters. The defendant, whose name is withheld to protect the identity of the victims, was found guilty by a jury in September.

District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney emphasized the severity of the sentence as a stern warning against harming children in Suffolk County. The DA’s office, committed to justice and the protection of minors, praised the courage of the young victims for coming forward and acknowledged the Suffolk County Police’s efforts in ensuring the perpetrator’s accountability.

The trial revealed disturbing details of the abuse, which began in early 2016. The defendant sexually abused his then 8-year-old daughter and coerced her to clean herself and shower while he watched. The abuse remained undisclosed until 2021 when the daughter confided in her mother.

The case highlights the grim reality of child sexual abuse and the justice system’s role in addressing such heinous crimes. The DA’s office reiterates its dedication to safeguarding children and prosecuting those who exploit minors.
