Cumberland Woman Arrested After Multiple Police Involved Disturbances

CUMBERLAND, MD – December 18 – Nellie Ann Miller, 59, of Cumberland, Maryland, was served a criminal summons by the Cumberland City Police on Sunday, December 17, 2023. The summons relates to multiple noise disturbance complaints at an apartment building on the 500 block of Shriver Avenue, dating back to March 2023.

The police had responded several times to Miller’s apartment due to noise complaints. Despite repeated warnings to cease disturbances, Miller failed to comply, leading to an application for charges with the District Court Commissioner.

Miller faces charges including 10 counts of disturbing the peace, maintaining a disorderly house, and contributing to the conditions of a child. She is currently awaiting trial in District Court. The repeated disturbances and subsequent charges underline the ongoing efforts of local authorities to maintain peace and order in residential areas.
