PITTSBURGH, PA – County Police apprehended a suspect following a shooting incident in Springdale Township.
At 5:11 PM on December 15, authorities received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting at a residence in the 800 block of Thompson Run Road. Upon arrival, first responders discovered an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while her husband had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Both individuals were transported to nearby hospitals and are anticipated to recover from their injuries.
The Allegheny Valley Regional Police sought the aid of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit, which promptly launched an investigation into the matter.
After a thorough inquiry, detectives determined that the incident was an attempted murder-suicide, and they identified 65-year-old Scott Mishler as the perpetrator. Numerous firearms and shell casings were recovered from the residence. Mishler has been charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. Currently, he is in custody and receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
