NAPLES, FL – Eric Linden Orndorff, 27, from Fort Myers, was arrested on multiple felony charges related to a series of vehicle break-ins. The arrest, made in broad daylight on Tuesday, was a result of extensive investigative efforts by local detectives.
Orndorff’s crimes, primarily targeting the 11000 block of Collier Boulevard, involved breaking into vehicles in a business parking lot. Detectives, identifying Orndorff’s pattern of committing these break-ins around lunchtime, prepared for his potential return.
On Tuesday, detectives, having tracked Orndorff to Naples, stationed themselves at the business parking lot around 11:30 AM. At approximately 12:15 PM, Orndorff arrived, immediately targeting a white work van. He entered the unlocked van and removed power tools.
Detectives intercepted and arrested Orndorff as he was leaving the parking lot, effectively halting his series of burglaries. Sheriff Kevin Rambosk commended the detectives for their proactive and meticulous police work leading to the arrest.
