Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in D.C. Woman's Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has announced the arrest of a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Northeast D.C. on June 28th. The incident took place at around 10:08 pm at the 700 block of 19th Street, Northeast.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered an adult female victim who had been shot. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim deceased at the scene, and she was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Tavonayna Glenn, who had no fixed address.

Following an investigation, 25-year-old Bobby Gupton of Southeast, D.C., was arrested on Sunday pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. Gupton has been charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
