SILVER SPRING, MD — Tremaine McDowell, 41, of Silver Spring, has been arrested and charged with multiple burglaries in the area. Montgomery County Police officers discovered evidence while responding to an unrelated domestic assault call at McDowell’s residence on November 28.
Montgomery County Police Department’s 3rd District Investigative Section had been investigating a series of residential burglaries in local apartment complexes, including Lenox Park Apartments, The Veridian, and the Arrive Apartments, from June to November. McDowell emerged as a suspect during the investigation.
Upon responding to a call in the 8700 block of 1st Avenue on the morning of November 28, officers noticed several Apple MacBooks, iPhones, Airpods, and other electronics in McDowell’s living room. A subsequent search warrant led to the discovery of apartment building key fobs and loaded firearm magazines.
Later that evening, McDowell was apprehended and charged with multiple counts related to the burglaries and domestic violence. He is currently detained without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
