LINDEN, NJ — Two suspects, Marc Pierre and a 17-year-old male juvenile, were arrested in Linden this morning following a high-speed police chase involving a stolen vehicle. The incident began shortly before 7:00 AM in the Aviation Plaza parking lot.

Linden Police Officers responded to reports of a red Porsche driving recklessly in the parking lot. The vehicle, confirmed stolen from New York, fled at high speed when officers attempted to make contact. A pursuit ensued but was soon terminated near W. 15th Street.

Minutes later, the vehicle was spotted again at the intersection of S. Wood Avenue and Route 1. A second chase began as the stolen Porsche headed north on Route 1, eventually colliding with another vehicle at Morses Mill Road intersection. The impact caused the driver to lose control and hit the center median, disabling the vehicle.

The suspects then fled on foot, scaling a fence into the Phillips 66 Refinery, but were apprehended shortly after by pursuing officers.

The driver of the vehicle struck by the Porsche was evaluated on-site and refused further medical treatment.

Marc Pierre, 22, from Maplewood, faces charges including second-degree possession of a stolen motor vehicle, second-degree eluding, third-degree trespassing, and fourth-degree resisting arrest. He is currently held at the Essex County Jail, awaiting a Superior Court appearance.

The 17-year-old juvenile from Newark has been charged with similar offenses and was released to his guardian pending a Family Court appearance.
