BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Police Department reported an armed robbery and handgun arrest in the Western District. On November 24, around 8:35 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of North Monroe Street following an assault report.
The victim, while driving near Coppin State University, was chased and cut off by her ex-boyfriend, Corey Thompson. Thompson allegedly blocked her vehicle at the intersection of North Monroe and Westwood Avenue. A struggle ensued over their son, during which Thompson implied possession of a gun and threatened the victim. He forcefully took her car keys after a struggle.
Thompson fled in a red 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, which was later located by a K9 officer during a search. He was arrested, and a handgun was found in the vehicle. Family Crimes detectives have been notified of the incident. Thompson has been charged with armed robbery and handgun possession and is now in Central Booking.
