South Jersey Mailman Stole $170k From Customers on Route

CAMDEN, N.J. – Joseph Fenuto, a 51-year-old postal employee from Blackwood, recently pleaded guilty to mail theft in federal court.

The confession, which took place before U.S. District Judge Christine P. O’Hearn, revealed Fenuto’s involvement in the theft of over $170,000 from mail parcels.

Fenuto, during his employment with the U.S. Postal Service from November 2021 to August 2022, was responsible for delivering mail in the Blackwood area, including the Gloucester Premium Outlets.

He admitted to stealing more than 50 parcels containing cash, which were intended for bank delivery in Ohio.

The total sum of stolen cash amounts to $171,110. Fenuto now faces a potential penalty of five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for April 2, 2024.
