Florida Mother Charged with Child Abuse Caught on Camera

SUNRISE, FL – Pamela Gaensel, a 47-year-old mother, faces child abuse charges following an incident captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera. The footage, according to the Sunrise Police Department, shows Gaensel violently pulling her 6-year-old son from her car and assaulting him.

The altercation took place in front of a residence on the 10500 block of Sunset Strip. The video reportedly shows Gaensel aggressively removing her son from the back seat of her vehicle, where her two other young children, aged 7 and 3, were also present. She is seen throwing both a booster seat and car seat at the boy, then pushing him to the ground and slapping him multiple times.

A neighbor, after witnessing the incident on their home surveillance system, alerted the police. The Sunrise Police Department responded to the scene and noted injuries on the child consistent with the reported abuse. Gaensel was arrested at the school while attempting to pick up her child. She has been charged with one count of child abuse without causing great bodily harm.
