Homeless Man Charged for Stabbing in Lancaster

LANCASTER, PA – The Lancaster City Police reported the apprehension of Michael Hess, a 49-year-old homeless man, following a stabbing incident on New Dorwart Street.

On Sunday, at 8:00 pm, police were called to a disturbance which escalated to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had been stabbed in the hand by Hess during an altercation. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hess, who fled the scene but was later found hiding in a garage on Lafayette Street, was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with aggravated assault. The Lancaster City Police commended the actions of their officers in apprehending Hess and ensuring the victim received timely medical attention.
