CLEVELAND, OH – The Ohio Lottery is actively reminding adults and retailers that its Scratch-Offs, popular as last-minute gifts or stocking stuffers, should not be given to minors. This directive aligns with the Ohio Lottery’s commitment to responsible gaming and is part of a broader national campaign to raise awareness about youth gambling risks.

Each year, the Ohio Lottery collaborates with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), McGill University’s International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors, and other lottery organizations in a holiday initiative. This national campaign focuses on increasing public understanding of the implications of youth gambling.

Michelle Gillcrist, Ohio Lottery Executive Director, emphasized the importance of responsible gaming. “Lottery games offer entertainment, and we strive to ensure our players enjoy them responsibly all year. This responsibility extends to not gifting lottery games to children, not just during the holiday season but at any time,” Gillcrist stated.
