NEW YORK, NY – Three separate hate crime incidents against Orthodox Jews occurred in Flatbush’s neighborhood on Shabbos afternoon, raising alarms about targeted violence. These incidents, happening around 4:00 PM, were reported on East 17th Street between Avenues J and K, East 18th Street between Avenues K and L, and near Edward R. Murrow High School on Avenue L and East 17th Street.
The first incident, captured on video, involved three suspects assaulting a Jewish individual while yelling “free Palestine,” clearly indicating the motive of the attack. Shortly afterward, the second incident occurred, where another victim was assaulted without any verbal altercation.
In the third incident, near Edward R. Murrow High School, the victim was both physically attacked and verbally abused, with assailants using the phrase “Free Palestine” during the assault.
These consecutive attacks have stirred significant concern within the community, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and security measures to protect vulnerable groups from hate-driven violence.
