DOVER, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that took place early Sunday morning in Dover.

On November 19, 2023, at around 2:58 a.m., troopers were called to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, following a report of a 44-year-old Dover man receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that the victim was asleep in his camper, located in the rear of a residence on the 200 block of North Old Mill Road in Dover, when an unidentified suspect entered and shot him. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. After the assailant left the scene, the victim managed to seek assistance from a nearby neighbor. Currently, there are no further details about the suspect.

The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is leading the investigation into this violent incident. Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or has any relevant information to contact Detective P. Campbell at 302-698-8504.
