PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY — Homicide Unit detectives of the Prince George’s County Police have apprehended three suspects in a recent Camp Springs murder. The suspects, identified as 29-year-old Chanel Slaughter, 34-year-old Deandre Wilson, and 36-year-old Joseph Lewis, all from Suitland, are accused of murdering 24-year-old Anthony Day Roberts of Camp Springs.

On the evening of November 8, 2023, at around 9:40 pm, police responded to a shooting on the 6300 block of Auth Road. Day Roberts was found in the roadway with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another adult male was also shot, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
The initial investigation suggests the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery, with the suspects and victims not previously known to each other.
Slaughter, Wilson, and Lewis face charges of first and second degree murder, attempted murder, and related charges. They are currently held by the Department of Corrections.
