BOWIE, MD — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources – Natural Resources Police announced its annual “Boatload of Toys” drive event for this weekend, in collaboration with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots initiative. The event aims to collect new, unopened toys for children in need at several Maryland locations.
On Saturday, donations will be accepted at Bowie Town Center, located at 15455 Emerald Way, Bowie, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and at Annapolis Mall’s old Sears mechanic parking lot, 1040 Annapolis Mall Road, Annapolis, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday’s collection will be at Bass Pro Shops, Arundel Mills, 7000 Arundel Mills Cir Suite E2, Hanover, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For those unable to attend, the department has initiated a new Amazon partnership for toy donations. Maryland residents and others can purchase toys from Amazon.com and ship them directly to the donation center by selecting the “NRP Gift Registry Address” at checkout.
