New Jersey Man Sentenced for 2021 Richland Township Murder

RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, PA – On Monday, Anthony Joel Gamble, a 22-year-old from Somerset, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 25 to 55 years in state prison for the 2021 killing of Kevin Rosero in Richland Township.

Gamble, alongside his younger brother, was arrested for the murder and robbery of Rosero, a Rutgers University graduate.

Gamble pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery. Judge Jeffrey L. Finley, noting Gamble’s lack of remorse, issued a consecutive sentence of 20 to 40 years for murder and an additional 5 to 15 years for the conspiracy charge.

The incident occurred in June 2021 during a botched robbery, where Rosero was fatally stabbed 28 times. Pennsylvania State Troopers later apprehended the Gamble brothers while they attempted to conceal Rosero’s body in a wooded area in Richland Township. Rosero’s death, described as a loss to the community by his former professor, has deeply affected his family and friends.

Joshua David Gamble, the defendant’s younger brother, also pleaded guilty to related charges and is scheduled for sentencing on November 27.
