WASHINGTON, D.C. — A CVS pharmacy in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C., was the scene of an alarming armed robbery on Sunday morning, with a suspect stealing oxycodone under threat of violence.
The incident, occurring just after 10 a.m., involved a suspect who approached the pharmacy counter, brandishing a silver handgun. The suspect menacingly demanded all available oxycontin, threatening to shoot the pharmacy worker if the request was not fulfilled within five minutes.
In response to the threat, the pharmacist handed over a bottle of oxycodone to the worker, who then relayed it to the suspect. Following a further demand for a second bottle, the gunman subsequently fled the scene, heading eastbound towards the Dupont Circle Metro station.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot-1-inch tall individual with a dark complexion. He was observed wearing a baseball cap, black sunglasses, a navy blue jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes at the time of the robbery.
