WILMINGTON, DE – A series of armed bank robberies occurred in Wilmington on November 10, beginning with an attempted robbery at Wells Fargo Bank on Concord Pike. Three suspects, described as black males, accosted a 49-year-old man in the parking lot. One suspect, armed with a handgun, forced the victim to the ground demanding money. The man escaped, and the suspects turned their attention to a 36-year-old woman in a car, who managed to flee the scene. The suspects left the area in a stolen silver Honda Accord with Pennsylvania plates.
At 1:00 p.m., the same suspects reportedly robbed a 55-year-old woman outside TD Bank, also on Concord Pike. They stole her cross-body purse at gunpoint and fled southbound in the same Honda Accord.
The spree continued at Bank of America on Limestone Road at approximately 1:49 p.m. Two suspects attacked a 63-year-old woman, striking her in the head and forcibly taking her purse. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Philadelphia Police later found the stolen Honda abandoned. Authorities believe the suspects have connections in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Delaware State Police urge public vigilance around banks and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
