Stolen D.C. Police Car Found, Suspects Were Not

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District are actively searching for a suspect involved in the theft of a University of the District of Columbia (UDC) police vehicle. The incident occurred in the 4200 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.

The theft took place on Friday, November 10, 2023, at around 3:45 am. The stolen vehicle was described as a grey 2023 Ford Explorer, bearing the UDC Police badge insignia on both front doors.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect, who is now sought by the police. The vehicle was found later in the day, but the suspect was not.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with information about the suspect or the whereabouts of the vehicle to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to 50411. The department offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
