SARATOGA COUNTY, NY – The Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office reported that Richard T. Irelan, a 45-year-old from Johnstown, NY, has entered a guilty plea to second-degree vehicular manslaughter.

This plea is in response to a crash that occurred on Sunday, July 30, leading to the death of Amanda Sullivan.

Irelan was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a pickup truck on I-87’s Exit 15 southbound off-ramp.

Sullivan, a passenger on Irelan’s motorcycle, was ejected and later pronounced dead at Saratoga Hospital. New York State Police investigation revealed Irelan’s intoxication and cannabis use at the time of the accident.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Troop G Collision Reconstruction Unit led the investigation, culminating in Irelan’s plea.
