BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Detectives are seeking assistance to identify a suspect involved in a serious assault in Leakin Park.
Northwest District and Special Investigation Detectives are requesting the public’s help to identify an individual linked to an aggravated and sexual assault that took place on Tuesday in Leakin Park, specifically in the area of the 4300 and 4400 block of North Franklintown Road. A 71-year-old woman reported being physically and sexually assaulted by an unknown man while walking on Gwynns Falls Trail.
Police reports indicate that the assailant trailed the woman, subsequently seizing her and coercing her with a firearm. Despite her efforts to escape, she was overpowered and attacked. The woman ultimately broke free and received hospital care for multiple serious injuries.
Police report the perpetrator to be a bald, light-complexioned African-American male, estimated to be in his 40s. His height is approximately 5’9″, and he was last seen wearing a dark coat and plastic-framed glasses. Authorities have circulated a composite drawing of the man believed to be the assailant.
