TOMS RIVER, NJ – Friday night lights gleamed over a decisive clash as Toms River North clinched a commanding victory over Freehold Township in the Central Jersey, Group 5 semifinal of the NJSIAA Tournament. The scoreboard displayed a lopsided 54 to 13 in favor of Toms River North, propelling them into the championship round.
The game, hosted at Toms River North’s home ground, saw no points on the board from either side during the initial three quarters. However, the silence was broken in the fourth quarter when Toms River North unleashed a scoring frenzy that Freehold Township couldn’t match.
Freehold Township’s Nick Cardone had a notable performance, passing for 150 yards with two touchdowns, despite an interception.
