BOSTON, MA – The search for Margaret Mbitu, 31, came to a tragic end when authorities discovered her body in a car at Boston Logan International Airport. Officials have issued an arrest warrant for her boyfriend, Kevin Kangethe, 40, who is believed to have fled the country following the murder.

Mbitu was found on Wednesday night in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the Central Parking Garage.

The grim discovery prompted an immediate investigation, with authorities deeming the homicide a targeted act rather than a random incident, ensuring the public that there is no ongoing threat to airport travelers.

Details from the arrest warrant indicate that Mbitu suffered severe slash wounds to her face and neck and a puncture wound to her side. The amount of blood found inside the vehicle led investigators to swiftly connect Kangethe to the crime.

Further investigation revealed that Kangethe purchased tickets to Kenya the day after Mbitu was reported missing by her family.

A report from Boston’s WCVB added that law enforcement is actively seeking Kangethe in connection with Mbitu’s death. Authorities are working with international partners to locate and apprehend the suspect.
