CINCINNATI, OH – An early Wednesday shooting incident outside a local bar has left a 22-year-old man with a non-fatal head injury.
The altercation took place near the University of Cincinnati at the Dive Bar on Short Vine Street in Corryville.
The incident, which occurred around 2 a.m., prompted the UC Public Safety to issue a campus-wide alert, advising students and staff to remain indoors. The suspect fled the scene and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
Following the shooting, the injured man received care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for a graze wound to the head.
Previous concerns about the Dive Bar’s operations were discussed last year, with the City Council noting a high number of police calls compared to neighboring bars and incidents involving assault, robbery, and drug use. Despite this, legislative action on the bar’s liquor license was postponed.
