AKRON, OH — Julian Sistrunk, 19, was arrested today by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) on charges of aggravated murder in the shooting death of Trieg Schwab, 26.
The incident, which resulted in Schwab’s death, occurred on October 2. Akron Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 1100 block of Chandler Avenue. Schwab was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds and was declared deceased at the scene.
Robert Greenlee, 18, was previously apprehended on October 27 near Hardman Drive in relation to Schwab’s murder. Following further investigation, Sistrunk was implicated and a warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued. Today’s arrest occurred at a residence near the 800 block of Highland Road, Canton, OH.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott reaffirmed the collaborative efforts between the Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service, emphasizing their joint commitment to the safety and security of Akron by arresting and removing violent offenders from the community.
