Toms River Tow Company Owner Sentenced for Trafficking Heroin

MANCHESTER, NJ – A Manchester resident, Leroy Hairston, 44, has been sentenced to ten years in New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) for cocaine distribution, as announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

The sentence, handed down by the Honorable Kimarie Rahill, J.S.C., follows Hairston’s guilty plea for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, stemming from a series of investigations in Toms River and Manchester Townships from January to April.

Hairston had entered a guilty plea on July 31, before Judge Rahill. Concurrently, he received a five-year NJSP sentence related to an earlier charge from November to December 2020, pled before the Honorable Lisa A. Puglisi, J.S.C., on March 20. Both sentences will run concurrently.

An extensive collaborative investigation involving multiple law enforcement divisions linked “Leroy’s Tow Service” in Toms River and Hairston’s Manchester residence to cocaine storage and distribution activities. After surveillance operations, Hairston was detained by Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers on April 26.

During a warranted search by the Toms River Township Police Department Emergency Services Unit, approximately 100 grams of cocaine and $7,000 were seized. Hairston was taken to Ocean County Jail and released per New Jersey Bail Reform policies.
