BALTIMORE, MD — Detectives arrested two teenagers on Oct. 26 who were in a vehicle matching the description of one recently stolen in an armed carjacking.
At around 10:10 a.m., officers from the Regional Auto Theft Task Force, while working on an auto theft initiative in the Southwest District, spotted the vehicle on the 600 block of North Longwood Street. Baltimore County Aviation assisted in tracking the vehicle, leading to a car stop on the 3400 block of West Lexington Street.
Both the driver and the passenger abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but were quickly detained after a brief chase. The suspects, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, were taken into custody. The 16-year-old had also been arrested for auto theft in August 2023. Both were transported to the Juvenile Booking Intake Facility for processing and charges.
Detectives are now examining if these individuals are connected to other recent incidents across the city. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact Southeast District Detectives at 410-396-2422.
