LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Christopher Miller, a 26-year-old resident of North Andover, Massachusetts, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday after attempting to elude police officers. Officers Scott Keefe and Casey Lepeshko observed Miller making an illegal “U” turn near Lacey Road and Lake Barnegat Drive North while they were on patrol.

Upon attempting to stop the dark-colored Honda Civic with Massachusetts license plates, Miller fled, turning off Lacey Road and onto Vaughn Avenue, and then onto Adolphus Street. The officers did not engage in a pursuit.

Later, Officer Sarno located the suspect vehicle parked alongside a residence on Briggs Avenue North. The car appeared to have driven across the front lawn in an attempt to hide along the fence line on the north side of the property. Miller was found lying down, hiding under the front end of the vehicle.

Miller was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters. After providing breath samples, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Improper U-Turn, Careless Driving, Failure to Stop, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol. Additionally, Miller was criminally charged on a warrant for 2nd degree Eluding police officers.
