WEST MORRIS, NJ — In a thrilling finish, West Morris secured a 19-17 victory over Pascack Valley in the North 1, Group 3 NJSIAA Tournament quarterfinals. A game-winning 28-yard field goal from Johnny Vieira sealed the win for West Morris.

Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter. West Morris got on the board in the second quarter with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Morris to Tyler Wu, followed by a 30-yard field goal from Vieira, making the score 10-0. Pascack Valley responded with a 21-yard field goal from Evan Starr, cutting the deficit to 10-3 at halftime.

The third quarter saw Pascack Valley tie the game at 10-10 after a 56-yard touchdown pass from Adam Shaw to Michael Fronzaglia.

In the final quarter, West Morris regained the lead with an 8-yard run from Garrett Crisp, although the subsequent extra point was blocked. Pascack Valley then took a 17-16 lead on a 3-yard run by Ashton Kazinci, setting the stage for Vieira’s decisive kick.

Jacob Morris led West Morris in passing with 136 yards, while Adam Shaw threw for 196 yards for Pascack Valley. Garrett Crisp was the rushing leader for West Morris with 57 yards, and Tyler Wu also contributed with an interception and 55 receiving yards.

The win advances West Morris to the semifinals, and they improve to a 5-5 record. Pascack Valley ends their season at 6-3.
