GLEN ROCK, NJ – Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation today that initiates the Reproductive Health Information Hub, a new website aimed at providing comprehensive information about reproductive health care in New Jersey.

The portal will offer details about access, coverage, and an individual’s rights under state law.

The legislation, identified as bill S-3275/A-4829, was signed in the presence of administration officials, legislators, public officials, and advocates. Alongside the new website, Murphy also announced forgivable loan awards aimed at enhancing facilities for reproductive health care, availability of funds for security upgrades, a Medicaid rate increase for providers, and an initiative to expand the reproductive health care workforce in the state.

The website is intended as a single point of access for information on reproductive health care, offering resources for both care providers and the public. It will cover topics such as emergency reproductive health care services, contraception, preventive services, and reproductive health medications.

The new portal also includes links for health insurance, verified reproductive health care providers, and guidelines on how to file a complaint if an individual’s reproductive rights are violated.

In addition to the website, the Governor underscored other efforts to strengthen reproductive health care in New Jersey. This includes over $963,000 in forgivable loans to Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey and LivWell Healthcare for facility upgrades, an increase in Medicaid rates effective October 1, and a $5 million state-funded initiative in partnership with Rutgers University to expand the pool of trained abortion providers.

The administration also allocated around $5 million in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget for security upgrades for reproductive health care facilities. Applications for the next cycle of the Reproductive Health Security Grant Program are open through October 31.

The legislation for the new portal was sponsored by Senator Nellie Pou and Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, among others.
