Pickleball, New Jersey's Fastest Growing Sport, is Coming to Atlantic County
– New Jersey-based company Pickle Juice, LLC, has signed a lease with MLG Realty for two indoor Pickleball facilities with juice bars in both Ventnor Heights and Blackwood, New Jersey, with a projected Summer 2023 opening.

VENTNOR HEIGHTS, NJ — New Jersey-based Pickle Juice, LLC, inked a lease deal with MLG Realty for two Pickleball facilities coupled with juice bars in Ventnor Heights and Blackwood. The locations are scheduled to open in Summer 2023.

A CNBC report cited that from August 2021 to August 2022, over 36 million people participated in Pickleball. Earlier data showed the player count was at 5 million in 2021. Between 2019 and 2021, the sport’s participation grew nearly 40%, solidifying its status as America’s fastest-growing sport.

Lisa Brody, Co-owner and Founder of Pickle Juice, has played Pickleball for over five years. “Almost every day for five years, I’d say to my husband – I’m going to go play Pickle and grab a juice,” said Brody. The dual concept of Pickleball courts and juice bars stemmed from her personal experience.

Within a matter of months, the properties were identified and leases were signed. The Ventnor Heights location, at 5000-5100 Wellington Avenue, will span 17,316 square feet and feature 5 courts. The Blackwood location, at 1001 S. Black Horse Pike, will cover 13,660 square feet and have 4 courts. Both sites aim to provide a distinct Pickleball experience, complete with juice bars offering fresh juices and smoothies.

“Our vision was to make people feel welcome when they walk in,” Brody commented. The interior design of each facility will incorporate elements of the outdoors, and juice bars will offer various options to energize players.

Each venue will cater to a wide range of skill levels, from juniors to advanced players. Amenities include membership packages, pro shops, open play, clinics, tournaments, private and group lessons, and more.

The company aims to open more than fifteen locations in the next 3-5 years. “If I can start a business doing something that I love, isn’t that the key to success?” Brody noted.
