Greenwood Man Arrested for Theft in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, DE – Delaware State Police apprehended 55-year-old Richard Boyd of Greenwood, Delaware on charges of felony theft in Ellendale.

The arrest came in connection with an incident that occurred on Monday, October 18.

Responding to a theft report at a residence on Rockin Way, troopers learned that two 40-foot light poles had been taken from the 73-year-old homeowner’s property.

Investigations pinpointed Boyd as the suspect, and by Monday, Boyd was in custody, handed over by Georgetown Probation and Parole.

He was charged with theft involving a victim over 62 years of age and conspiracy of the second degree. Boyd was subsequently released on his own recognizance.
